Ryan is currently working in the lab as a Research Assistant after successfully defending his Master's thesis in May of 2023. His project looked at the riparian vegetation and biodiversity across agricultural drainage systems impacted by Phragmites australis and drain management. Alongside his thesis work, Ryan is developing a publication surrounding the use of plant identification apps and a methodology on how to confirm species using local expert knowledge.
